MARRIED ALIVE – PART 2

MARRIED ALIVE – PART 2

Yes, a divorced person, by reason of the fact that they hold a divorce contract in their hand, is allowed to re-marry, only in the Lord, 1 Corinthians 7:39. The divorce contract is what breaks and releases a person from a marriage contract. As the preachers state, the ideal is for married men and women to stay together for life, but divorce is allowed because of our hard hearts in our sinful condition. Yahuwah does not like divorce, because it represents death of a relationship, but he has made allowance for it. Mark 10:2-9 SOMB, “And Pharisees came to him to test him and asked, “Is it lawful for a husband to put away (without a written contract of divorce) his wife?” testing him.3He answered, “What did Moses command you?”4They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and then to send her away” (lawful divorce, Deuteronomy 24:1-4). 5“It was because of your hard hearts that he wrote you this precept,” Yeshua said to them. 6“But from the beginning of creation, ‘Yahuwah made them male and female.’ 7’For this reason a groom will leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife, 8and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9Therefore, what Yahuwah has joined together, let no human tear apart.”

There is therefore now no condemnation to one who is in Messiah Yeshua. As long as one has a divorce decree, contract, or certificate in their possession, they are free to marry again. Paul recommended we stay single, if a person has the willpower and self-control to remain single and not sin. If not, remarry, but do it lawfully, according to Deuteronomy 24:1-4 SOMB, “When a man takes a wife and marries her, if she finds no favor in his eyes, because he has found some unsuitable thing in her, then he must write her a certificate of divorce, put it into her hand, and send her out of his house. 2When she has gone out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife. 3If the second husband hates her and writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it into her hand, and sends her out of his house; or if the second husband dies, the man who took her to be his wife, 4then her former husband, the one who had first sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after she has become impure; for that would be an abomination to Yahuwah. You must not cause the land to become guilty, the land that Yahuwah your Divine One is giving you as an inheritance.”

After remarriage, one can obtain another divorce but cannot go back to a previous spouse, if they are still alive, because one has defiled oneself by consummating a new marriage. But one can seek a different spouse in a new marriage.
