The Great Eagle

THE GREAT EAGLE

Ezekiel received another eye-popping vision in 594 BCE as recorded in chapter 17. Ezekiel 17:1-6, “And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 2“Son of man, pose a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel, 3and say, ‘Thus says Sovereign Yahweh: “A great eagle with large wings and long pinions, full of feathers of various colors, came to Lebanon and took from the cedar the highest branch. 4He cropped off its topmost young twig and carried it to a land of trade; he set it in a city of merchants. 5Then he took some of the seed of the land and planted it in a fertile field; he placed it by abundant waters and set it like a willow tree. 6And it grew and became a spreading vine of low stature; its branches turned toward him, but its roots were under it. So it became a vine, brought forth branches, and put forth shoots.” Verse 22 reveals that this great eagle is Yahweh. When Yahweh gave this vision to Ezekiel, only the tribes of Judah and Benjamin remained of the once great nation of Israel. Verse 4 shows us that the young King Jehoiachin was taken to Babylon, a city of merchants. Revelation 18 reveals that all Israel has committed fornication with this Babylon the Great. But notice the other seeds that Yahweh planted became a vine with many branches putting forth many shoots. Out of ancient Israel has come some great merchant nations you might recognize, America and Great Britain, once the leading commercial centers of the world. Verse 6 shows us that we were once humble nations, worshiping Yahweh. America and Great Britain brought the Gospel to the world through missionary efforts that began with our trading efforts in many parts of the world.

Verse 7, “But there was another great eagle with large wings and many feathers; and behold, this vine bent its roots toward him, and stretched its branches toward him, from the garden terrace where it had been planted, that he might water it.” This eagle is identified as a vine, and is a clear reference to America. We were great when we allowed Yahweh to water us, when we worshiped our Great Eagle, when we were humble before our Creator. At one time we were good seed planted in good ground, and we brought forth good fruit. Verse 8, “It was planted in good soil by many waters, to bring forth branches, bear fruit, and become a majestic vine.” We were the kings of the earth, but that was then, this is now. The little balding blind eagle has forsaken her Great Eagle; we are in rebellion, casting out our Vinedresser. We’ve opened our spiritual doors to every eastern religion and philosophy, and it has consumed our fruit and our fruit-producing ability. Verses 9-10, “Say, ‘Thus says Sovereign Yahweh: “Will it thrive? Will he not pull up its roots, cut off its fruit, and leave it to wither? All of its spring leaves will wither, and no great power or many people will be needed to pluck it up by its roots. 10Behold, it is planted, will it thrive? Will it not utterly wither when the east wind touches it? It will wither in the garden terrace where it grew.”’” What is this east wind? Islamism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and a host of other eastern religions and humanist philosophies. That wind has been blowing upon Great Britain and America for many decades now. The hearts and minds of Brits and Americans have been deceived and led away from Yahweh and His Word, Yeshua HaMashiach. We are now so weak that it won’t take a strong people to pluck us up by our roots. In fact, that reference in verse 9 to no great power or many people speaks of small terrorist cells bringing us down from within our borders. You can only bring down a great nation from the outside once it has rotted morally on the inside. Yahweh calls it rebellion. Being pulled up by the roots indicates that there will be no trace of the once thriving plant, a severe warning to the arrogant eagle.

Verses 12-15, “Say now to the rebellious house: ‘Do you not know what these things mean?’ Tell them, ‘Indeed the king of Babylon went to Jerusalem and took its king and princes, and led them with him to Babylon. 13And he took the king’s offspring, made a covenant with him, and put him under oath. He also took away the mighty of the land, 14that the kingdom might be brought low and not lift itself up, but that by keeping his covenant it might stand. 15But he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Can he break a covenant and still be delivered?’” The more America, Great Britain, and Israel rebel, the more they will be taken captive by the merchants of Babylon. Did not President Obama make one of his first presidential speeches in Cairo, Egypt? Has he not been using his position to aid Islam and turn America against Israel? Yahweh sees that as rebellion, and we will not prosper while we continue in this rebellion. We are going to be brought very low. We may be the seed of the King of Israel, but as we break our covenant with our king, we will be destroyed. Making a covenant with the globalists is a fatal error. You cannot serve Babylon and Yahweh, you cannot have two masters. Yeshua made that clear in Luke 16:13, “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve Yahweh and mammon (money, riches, wealth).”

You just don’t mock Yahweh without serious consequences. Paul stated it plainly in Galatians 6:7, “Do not be deceived, Yahweh is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” Our nations have sown rebellion, we will reap the whirlwind. Ezekiel 17:16, “‘As I live,’ says Sovereign Yahweh, ‘surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke—with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.’” Rebellion brings captivity and death. There will be no assistance from our so-called friend Egypt, verses 17-18, “Nor will Pharaoh (leader of Egypt) with his mighty army and great company do anything in the war, when they heap up a siege mound and build a wall to cut off many persons. 18Since he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, and in fact gave his hand and still did all these things, he shall not escape.” Believing we can lean on Egypt or any Muslim country for help in time of war is a foolhardy idea. They hate us for interfering in their countries’ affairs. They will not aid Israel, nor will they help America or Great Britain. They want us to fall and are working night and day to bring our destruction about.

Our rejection of Yahweh’s covenant will come back to bite us. Verse 19, “Therefore thus says Sovereign Yahweh: “As I live, surely My oath which he despised, and My covenant which he broke, I will recompense on his own head.”” Why does Yahweh do this? Because our covenant breaking and oath despising is seen as treason against Yahweh and His Kingdom. Verse 20, “I will spread My net over him, and he shall be taken in My snare. I will bring him to (mystery) Babylon and try him there for the treason which he committed against Me.” That is spiritual adultery. Judgment day is coming to the adulterous people of Yahweh, because He is jealous over His people and His covenant with us. Our courageous military men and women will fall, verse 21, “All his fugitives (mighty choice men) with all his troops shall fall by the sword, and those who remain shall be scattered to every wind; and you shall know that I, Yahweh, have spoken.” Our brave military forces will be broken and the rest of us will be scattered to the four winds as refugees. Pray for our troops, especially the ones deployed in the Middle East, many will not return safely home.

Yahweh is the Great Eagle of verse 3, as revealed in verses 22-23, “Thus says Sovereign Yahweh: “I will take also one of the highest branches of the high cedar and set it out. I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and will plant it on a high and prominent mountain. 23On the mountain height of Israel I will plant it; and it will bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a majestic cedar. Under it will dwell birds of every sort; in the shadow of its branches they will dwell.” Yahweh will establish Yeshua’s kingdom in Israel, right on the Temple Mount. His Government will stand, will prosper and bear righteous fruit to the Father forever. All living creatures will dwell securely under the shadow of the Almighty. In the end, there will be no doubt as to Who has humbled the rebellious children of Yahweh and Who has exalted the humble King of kings and Lord of lords, verse 24, “And all the trees (people) of the field (earth) shall know that I, Yahweh, have brought down the high tree (America, Israel, Great Britain) and exalted the low tree (Yeshua), dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish; I, Yahweh, have spoken and have done it.” All praise and glory to Yahweh for all ages to come.
