Drowning in the Sea of Defiance
Jeremiah 5, ““Run to and fro through the streets of (defiant) Jerusalem;
See now and know;
And seek in her open (defiant) places
If you can find a (righteous, holy) man,
If there is anyone who executes judgment,
Who seeks the truth,
And I will pardon her.
2 Though they say, ‘As Yahweh lives,’
Surely they (defiantly) swear falsely.”
3 O Yahweh, are not Your eyes on the truth?
You have stricken them,
But they have not grieved;
You have consumed them,
But they have (defiantly) refused to receive correction.
They have (defiantly) made their faces harder than rock;
They have (defiantly) refused to return.
4 Therefore I said, “Surely these are (defiant and spiritually) poor.
They are (defiantly) foolish;
For they do not know the way of Yahweh,
The judgment of their Mighty One.
5 I will go to the great men and speak to them,
For they have known the way of Yahweh,
The judgment of their Mighty One.”
But these (defiant ones) have altogether (defiantly) broken the yoke
And (defiantly) burst the bonds.
6 Therefore a lion from the (Lebanese = Muslim) forest shall slay them,
A wolf of the (Syrian and Arabian = Muslim) deserts shall destroy them;
A(n) (Iranian = Muslim) leopard will watch over their (defiant) cities.
Everyone who goes out from there shall be torn in pieces,
Because their (defiant) transgressions are many;
Their (defiant) backslidings have increased.
7 “How shall I pardon you for this (defiance)?
Your children have (defiantly) forsaken Me
And (defiantly) sworn by those that are not mighty ones.
When I had fed them to the full,
Then they (defiantly) committed adultery
And (defiantly) assembled themselves by (defiant) troops in the (defiant) harlots’ houses.
8 They were like well-fed lusty (defiant) stallions;
Every one (defiantly) neighed after his (defiant) neighbor’s wife.
9 Shall I not punish them for these (defiant) things?” says Yahweh.
“And shall I not avenge Myself on such a (defiant) nation as this?
10 “Go up on her (defiant) walls and destroy,
But do not make a complete end.
Take away her (defiant and rebellious) branches,
For they are not Yahweh’s (branches).
11 For the house of Israel (America and the former British Empire) and the house of Judah (modern Israel)
Have (defiantly) dealt very treacherously with Me,” says Yahweh.
12 They have (defiantly) lied about Yahweh,
And (defiantly) said, “It is not He.
Neither will evil come upon us,
Nor shall we see sword or famine.
13 And the prophets become wind,
For the word is not in them.
Thus shall it be done to them.”
14Therefore thus says Yahweh Mighty One of hosts:
“Because you speak this word,
Behold, I will make My words in your mouth fire,
And this (defiant) people wood,
And it shall devour them.
15 Behold, I will bring a (defiant) nation against you from afar,
O house of Israel,” says Yahweh.
“It is a mighty (defiant) nation,
It is an ancient (defiant) nation,
A (defiant) nation whose language you do not know,
Nor can you understand what they say.
16 Their (defiant) quiver is like an open (defiant) tomb;
They are all mighty (defiant) men.
17 And they shall (defiantly) eat up your harvest and your bread,
Which your (defiant) sons and daughters should eat.
They shall (defiantly) eat up your flocks and your herds;
They shall (defiantly) eat up your vines and your fig trees;
They shall (defiantly) destroy your fortified (defiant) cities (hardened underground bunker cities, like the one under the Denver International Airport),
In which you trust, with the sword.
18“Nevertheless in those days,” says Yahweh, “I will not make a complete end of you. 19And it will be when you say, ‘Why does Yahweh our Mighty One do all these things to us?’ then you shall answer them, ‘Just as you have (defiantly) forsaken Me and (defiantly) served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve (defiant) aliens in a land that is not yours.’
20 “Declare this in the (defiant) house of Jacob (America and Great Britain)
And proclaim it in (defiant) Judah (modern Israel), saying,
21 ‘Hear this now, O foolish (defiant) people,
Without understanding,
Who have eyes and see not,
And who have ears and hear not:
22 Do you not fear Me?’ says Yahweh.
‘Will you not tremble at My presence,
Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea (of defiance),
By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?
And though its waves toss to and fro,
Yet they cannot prevail;
Though they (defiantly) roar, yet they cannot pass over it.
23 But this (defiant) people has a defiant (Hebrew: sawrar) and rebellious (Hebrew: mawraw) heart;
They have revolted (turned off Yahweh) and departed (walked away from Yahweh).
24 They do not say in their (defiant) heart,
“Let us now fear Yahweh our Mighty One,
Who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season.
He reserves for us the appointed weeks of the harvest.” (His fall Feasts begin tomorrow, but who acknowledges Yahweh or takes notice of His Feasts?)
25 Your (defiant) iniquities have turned these things away,
And your sins (of defiance) have withheld good from you.
26 ‘For among My people are found (defiantly) wicked men;
They lie in wait as one who (defiantly) sets snares;
They (defiantly) set a trap;
They (defiantly) catch men.
27 As a cage is full of birds,
So their (defiant) houses are full of deceit (fraud).
Therefore they have become (defiantly) great and grown (defiantly) rich.
28 They have (defiantly) grown fat, they are sleek (think slick defiant thoughts);
Yes, they surpass the (defiant) deeds of the wicked;
They (defiantly) do not plead the cause,
The cause of the fatherless;
Yet they (defiantly) prosper,
And the right of the needy they (defiantly) do not defend.
29 Shall I not punish them for these (defiant) things?’ says Yahweh.
‘Shall I not avenge Myself on such a (defiant) nation as this?’
30 “An astonishing and (defiantly) horrible thing
Has been (defiantly) committed in the land:
31 The prophets (defiantly) prophesy falsely,
And the (defiant) priests (defiantly) rule by their own (defiant) power;
And My (defiant) people love to have it so.
But what will you do in the end?”
Oh Father, help me, the anointing is so heavy I can barely type. Where do I begin on such a topic? The spirit of this age is the spirit of defiance. It is the spirit of Satan; it is the spirit of anti-Messiah. The Arab spring was a spring of defiance, defiant rebels trying to put down defiant despots, in order to set up an even more defiant evil Islamic regime. Now we have defiant Palestinians (not even a unique ethnic people group), Muslim Arab, Jordanians, and Syrians, trying to create yet another defiant Islamic state in the Middle East. Folks, we are drowning in the sin of defiance. The sea of humanity today is nothing but a sea of defiance.
As a result of all this defiance against Yahweh, America, the former British Commonwealth nations, and modern Israel are melting down from within. Yahweh is using and will continue to use the murderous religion of Islam to punish His rebellious defiant children. The root of our problem is pride, the trunk of our sin is arrogance, but the branches, as mentioned by Jeremiah above, are defiance and rebellion. Notice Yahweh stated flatly that these branches are not His, therefore He will cut these branches off of His tree and burn them with fire. If you didn’t get that the first time reading through Jeremiah 5, read it again, and again.
Yahweh destroyed humanity the first time with water, but He has promised to destroy us in these last days by fire. That fire will be in the form of His Word, preached by at least His two witnesses. It will be by fire from the heavens, as we just saw in the last couple days, by asteroids, comets, Planet Xs, and the like. It will be by the fire of nuclear war, and just plain old wildfires. Why is Yahweh using fire against the earth? Because fire cleanses, it purifies. Why would Yahweh want to cleanse or purify the earth? Because He plans on living here, among His people, forever. Sin will not stand in the presence of Yahweh, therefore He burns it up, ultimately in the Lake of Fire. Defiance is sin, therefore Yahweh must burn it up too. If you are associated with defiance, as most humans are, then you will be burned up as well.
The good news is that once Yahweh is finished burning up sin and sinners, He’s going to renew this earth back to the state of perfection it was in at creation. We are going back to the Garden of Eden; the Garden of Eden will be given back to us. Don’t worry, little children of Yahweh, your Heavenly Father is preparing a Kingdom for you and will soon bring that Kingdom to earth. In that day there will be perfect health, peace, and prosperity for all eternity. Trust Yahweh, not yourself, your government, or your myriad idols. So, instead of drowning in the Sea of Defiance, learn to swim in the grace of Yeshua by the power of the Holy Spirit. The devil is just angry because he knows he only has a short time left. You, on the other hand, should rejoice, because you only have a short time left on this evil planet in this sinful condition. Your corruptible will soon put on incorruption, your mortal body will soon be made immortal. That fact really ticks off the devil, but should make you jump and shout praises to Yahweh!!
