DANIEL PREDICTS ABOMINATION
OF ANTIOCHUS IV EPIPHANES
400 YEARS BEFORE THE EVENT

Daniel dates his Chapter Eight prophecies for us in Daniel 8:1, “In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar (approximately 549 BC), I, Daniel, had a vision appear to me, after the one that appeared to me at first.”
The angel plainly tells Daniel that the vision of the ram and goat is for the time of the end, Daniel 8:17,19, “So he came near where I stood. When he came, I was frightened and prostrated myself on the ground. He said to me, “Understand, son of man, that the vision is for the time of the end.” 19 He said, “See, I will show you what will happen later in the time of wrath, because the vision concerns the appointed time for the end.”
The prophecy we are interested in is the 2,300 evening-morning prophecy, Daniel 8:9-14, “Out of one of them grew another horn, little at first, but which became very large in the south, in the east, and in the land of beauty. 10 It became so large as to engage in war with the army of heaven. Some of that army and some of the stars were thrown down to the earth, and it trampled on them. 11 It made itself to be as great as the commander of the army. It took away from him the regular (twice-daily) burnt offering, and the place of his sanctuary was polluted. 12 Because of rebellion, the army will be given over to the goat’s horn, and the (twice-daily) burnt offering will be stopped. The horn will throw truth down to the ground, and it will succeed in what it does. 13 Then I heard a holy one speaking and another holy one answering him, “How long will these things last, this vision about the burnt offering, the sin that brings destruction, the handing over of the sanctuary, and heaven’s army being trampled on?” 14 He said to me, “It will last for 2,300 evenings and mornings. After that the sanctuary will be put right.” (2,300 twice-daily sacrifices = 1,150 days, see Exodus 29:38-42)”
The fact that it’s exactly 1,150 days being spoken about is nailed firmly down by Fred P. 1,150 days is the length of the prophetic event that was to happen in the future from Daniel, not a calculated duration of time from Daniel’s time to the beginning of some future prophetic event. As Mr. Miller and Mr. Lanser point out, the exact begin and end dates of Daniel’s abomination event is known from the Book of Maccabees. About 400 years after Daniel received this vision the abomination event of Antiochus IV Epiphanes began exactly on Kislev 15, 167 BC (Jewish year 3595), according to 1 Maccabees 1:54, “On the fifteenth day of Chislev in the (Seleucid) year 145 the king built the appalling abomination on top of the altar of burnt offering; and altars were built in the surrounding towns of Judah” Daniel proclaimed 400 years earlier that this event would last exactly 2,300 evening-morning, or 1,150 days and ended on Kislev 25, 164 BC (Jewish year 3598), according to 1 Maccabees 4:52-53, “On the twenty-fifth of the ninth month, Chislev, in the (Seleucid) year 148 they rose at dawn (53) and offered a lawful sacrifice on the new altar of burnt offering which they had made.”
I’ve written previously establishing that Seleucid year 145 is equal to 167 BC, so I won’t elaborate on that again.
We see that there are 3, 360-day years, from 167 to 164 BC, plus the 10 days from the 15th to the 25th of the same month, plus 2 intercalary 30-day months to keep the seasons in line with the sun, giving us exactly 1,150 days of Daniel’s prophecy, calculated as follows:
3 X 360-day years = 1,080 days
plus 10 days + 10 days
plus 2 30-day months + 60 days
TOTAL = 1,150 days
Never doubt that the Holy Scriptures and Yahweh’s holy angels and prophets prophesy exactly. There is no doubt, there is no error in Bible prophecy, only precise accuracy. You can trust Yahweh’s Word, so you know you can trust Yahweh.
No one, including Daniel, understood the vision in Daniel’s day. Most humans today still don’t understand Daniel Chapter 8 visions and prophecy. Mr. Miller and Mr. Lanser mention that Daniel predicted a Greek calendar hundreds of years ahead of time, but I want you to know Yahweh is Hebrew, the angel is Hebrew, Daniel is Hebrew, the Maccabees were Hebrew. The Maccabees hated the Greeks for trying to destroy Jews and Judaism. None of these people are interested in a Greek 360-day calendar. The prophecy and the days calculations also work in the Hebrew prophetic 360-day biblical calendar. All the prophecies in the Bible can be understood according to Yahweh’s biblical Hebrew calendar.
Daniel 8:26, “The vision about the evenings and mornings that has been told is true. But seal up the vision, for it refers to many days in the future.” Antiochus IV Epiphanes, as a type of anti-messiah may have fulfilled Daniel’s 2,300 evening-morning prophecy back in 167-164 BC, but we understand from the New Covenant that we will see a similar abomination of desolation again in the end times that we live in. Daniel chapter 8 is very clear that his prophesies concern the end of time, not just Antiochus’ time. Yeshua predicted it in Matthew 24:15, “Therefore, when you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy of holies” (let the reader understand),”
Paul understood Yeshua’s prophecy,
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4,”Now about the coming of our Lord Yeshua Messiah and our being gathered together to be with him: We ask you, brothers, 2 that you not be easily disturbed or troubled, either by a spirit, by a message, or by a letter that seems to be coming from us, to the effect that the day of Messiah has already come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not come until after the falling away comes, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction. 4 This is he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called Yahweh or that is worshiped. As a result, he as Yahweh sits in the temple of Yahweh and exhibits himself as Yahweh.”
I encourage you to read all of 1st and 2nd Thessalonians. The end rapidly approaches. Are you ready to meet your Maker, Yahweh? Repent of your sins, ask Yeshua to save you today.
At this very moment we are waiting for Daniel’s Chapter 8 war between the West and Iran/Iraq. We’ve already whipped Iraq, now we (America, Israel, and our allies) will whip Iran, just before America is destroyed. There is no time to waste, repent of your sin today, this second.
