Sabbath Day Defined by Calendar Day Not by Religion

I am so frustrated by the heresy, apostasy, and backslidden thinking in the body of Messiah today. Messianics and Sunday-go-to-meeting folks alike seem to have been dumbed down and deceived to the point of no longer being able to think logically or even read the simple, straightforward teachings in the Word of Yehowah, the Set-apart Bible. Specifically, I’m talking about how, when, and why Yehowah defined and created the day, including the beginning of the day, and the end of the day, four days before he even created the sun!

Here’s Genesis 1:1-5 from my Son Of Man Bible to get us started in our study today:

Genesis 1:1-5, “(Son Of Man Bible is released under a CC BY-SA 4.0 License. Original work is at door43.org) In the beginning (c. 5654 BC), the Almighty created (Aleph Tav) the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth became without form and empty. Darkness was upon the surface of the deep. The Ruach of the Almighty was moving above the surface of the waters. 3 The Almighty said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 The Almighty saw the light, that it was good. The Almighty divided the light from the darkness. 5 The Almighty called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” Dusk came and dawn came, day one.”

It may help to understand what I’m trying to get across today by thinking in terms of modern technology, hardware and software. In Gen. 1, Yehowah created the heavens and the earth, the hardware of our universe. Verse 1, “In the beginning (c. 5654 BC), the Almighty created (Aleph Tav) the heavens and the earth.”

Verse 2 reveals that in the beginning, Yehowah was creating in total darkness, blackness, like in the middle of the night, without sunshine or moonglow or starlight to glisten off of the waters that the Ruach was hovering over. It was completely dark black nightlike. By the end of verse 2 we see that the universe was just cold hard darkness, like modern hardware without any software, no boot ROM, no OS, no apps. Verse 2, “The earth became without form and empty. Darkness was upon the surface of the deep. The Ruach of the Almighty was moving above the surface of the waters.”

Ah, then comes verse 3, Yehowah created light, four days before he created the sun!! Yehowah was booting the universe program, the universe’s monitor lit up with light! Yehowah had just created some cool software called light! Verse 3, “The Almighty said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” But when did Yehowah created light out of nothingness? I’m glad you asked.

By the end of verse 4, we see that Yehowah saw and recognized that light is good. I agree! But then notice what Yehowah did: He divided the light from the darkness. What a minute! On the first day of creation, by the end of verse 4, we had dark and light present at the same time. What time of day did Yehowah do the splitting, or dividing, or separation, of darkness from light? I’m glad you asked. What time of day do we see light and darkness or darkness and light at the same time today in our beautifully created universe on our home planet earth? At dawn and dusk! That is exactly what each of those terms mean and represent. Verse 4, “The Almighty saw the light, that it was good. The Almighty divided the light from the darkness.” Yehowah divided darkness and light at DAWN of the first day of creation! Dawn is ALWAYS preceeded by total darkness. DAWN is the zero nanosecond, or hour, of the newly created day, the first day of creation. Darkness before DAWN, daylight from DAWN until DUSK. Simple logical progression, kind of like a computer program. Yehowah created light at DAWN, so he could continue with creation in the daytime, or daylight, of Day 1!

Notice now what Yehowah defined in verse 5. He defined light as the daytime and the darkness as nighttime. Verse 5a, “The Almighty called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.”” But now we want to examine verse 5b, “Dusk came and dawn came, day one.” What has the Father just defined? The 24-hour day, without sun or stars! What does Yehowah mean when he says that Dusk came? I’m glad you asked. Dusk reveals, dusk defines, the END of the FIRST HALF of the 24-hour day, the first half of the day which is about 12 hours of DAYLIGHT! What does Yehowah mean when he says that Dawn came? I’m glad you asked. Dawn reveals, dawn defines, the END of the SECOND HALF of the 24-hour day, the second half of the day which is about 12 hours of DARKNESS! Yehowah just defined DAY ONE, the FIRST DAY of creation. A 24-hour day defined four days BEFORE the sun or stars were created!

Just the other day I had asked Yehowah why did he do creation this way? His statement seems to have confused the masses of humanity, well, religious folks anyway. The revelation comes when you realize that DUSK, mentioned first, is a MIXTURE of light and darkness. And because it is a mixture of light and darkness, by definition we see that the light comes BEFORE the dark night appears. About 12 hours of light ALWAYS comes BEFORE DUSK, then sunset, then nighttime. By stating DUSK first, Yehowah defines a day as beginning with the light of DAWN, approximately 12 hours of daylight occurs before DUSK! How it that possible? Well, when he mentions DAWN, after he just mentioned DUSK, we understand that DAWN ENDS the approximate 12 hours of nighttime darkness. So, when Yehowah says that DUSK came then DAWN came, he reveals that a 24-hour day ENDS at DAWN. And if a 24-hour day ENDS at DAWN, then the next day, day 2 of creation, BEGINS AT DAWN!! The 24-hour day BEGINS and ENDS at DAWN, NOT DUSK, like Jews and Messianics would have you believe. Think about a normal day. Farmers and their livestock wake up and begin their day at DAWN, not at DUSK, as a general rule.

Just because some of Yehowah’s Feast days appear to begin at DUSK, the Feast passages of Scripture DO NOT DEFINE a 24-hour day. Father Yehowah defined the 24-hour day in Genesis 1:5! And he further testifies to this truth and fact by repeating the same information in verses 8, 13, 19, 23, and 31. Six Scriptural witnesses, just in Genesis chapter 1!

So, by the time we get to Genesis 2:1-2, we understand clearly and absolutely that the Sabbath day of Genesis 2:2 BEGAN AT DAWN of the 7th day of creation: “1 Then the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the living things that filled them. 2 By the seventh day, the Almighty finished his work which he had done, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had done (Exo. 16:23; 20:11; 31:17; Heb. 4:4).” Father Yah Shabbated on the seventh day of creation, thus defining the seventh-day Sabbath for all eternity. That word for “rested” in Gen. 2:2 is Strong’s # 7673, the verb form of Sabbath, to Shabbat, to rest, to cease from creative or industrial labor! The noun Sabbath is Strong’s # 7676, first used in Exodus 16:23 where Yehowah re-synchronized the Hebrews with his creation Sabbath. After being in Egypt for 225 years and ending up working 24/7/360 days per year, the Hebrews had forgotten Yehowah’s seventh-day Sabbath, they forgot, or were not allowed to Shabbat! Notice that the Father rested on the seventh day, not on the evening of the sixth day, as those in error do today. You can see clearly in Genesis 1, that on day six of creation, Yehowah is still creating and giving instructions to Adam and Eve. No resting or Sabbath is mentioned by the END of day six, which we now know ENDED AT DAWN. Yehowah, Adam, and Eve quite possibly talked in close fellowship all night long of Day 6 of creation. After all, they all had just met!
