Yahovah’s Feasts in the New Testament – Part 6 – Feast of Trumpets

YAHOVAH’S FEASTS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

PART 6

FEAST OF TRUMPETS OR YOM TERUAH

In this series of posts, we’re going to briefly list Yahovah’s biblical Feasts, show the commandment in the Old Testament, then list New Testament scriptures that show Yeshua HaMashiach, the apostles, or the church observing these eternal Feasts of Yahovah.

Leviticus 23:23-25, “And Yahovah spoke to Moses, saying, 24Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, on the first of the month, a Holy Day Sabbath shall be to you, a memorial acclamation of the resounding of trumpets, a holy gathering. 25You shall do no laborious work and you shall bring a fire offering to Yahovah.”

Although the Feast of Trumpets, or Yom Teruah, is not mentioned by name in the New Testament, the theme of the day – the sounding of trumpets announcing Yeshua HaMashiach’s return – is mentioned by several New Testament authors as noted in the references below.

Matthew 24:30-31, “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the heavens. And then all the tribes of the land will wail. And they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and much glory. 31And He will send His cherubs with a great sound of a large trumpet, and they will gather His chosen ones from the four winds, from the ends of the sky to the other.”

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, “Because the Master Himself shall come down from Heaven with a commanding shout of an archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of Yahovah. And the dead in Messiah will rise again first. 17Then we who remain alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet with our Master in the air. And so we will always be with our Master.”

Revelation 11:15, “And the seventh cherub trumpeted. And there were great rumblings of thunder saying, The kingdoms of this world have became our Divine One’s, even of His Messiah; and He shall reign forever and ever.”
