The World To Come
My spirit was upset this week when I found out that there is a camp of believers who say there will not be a literal 1,000 year reign of Messiah Yahshua on this planet in the near future. I didn’t realize there are so many divisions among Yahweh’s people. But I want you to know, dear reader, that there will be the Kingdom of Yahweh on earth. Yahshua told us to pray for it and the Apostles did teach it. Look at Hebrews 2:5 (NKJV) “For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in subjection to angels.” It is this world to come, of which the author of the Book of Hebrews writes about, especially when in relation to the promise of the rest that remains to be obtained by the people of Yahweh. Hebrews 4:1 (NKJV) “Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.” The rest that we are going to enter into will be found in the Kingdom of Yahweh that Yahshua will establish on this earth at His Advent 2.0.
The word for world in Hebrews 2:5 is not the common word cosmos, found many places in the New Covenant. It is the Greek word oikoumenē pronounced oy-kou-men’-ay, Strong’s number 3625, found only 16 times in the New Covenant. It means the inhabited earth, including those inhabitants, in other words, an empire, or kingdom of peoples on earth, not just the land, or soil of the planet.
This rest that we will experience goes beyond just resting on the seventh day Sabbath, or entering the Promised Land of Israel. It extends to the eternal rest that Yahweh Himself experiences daily. When Yahshua gave the disciples His model prayer in Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV) “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11Give us this day our daily bread. 12And forgive us our [sin] debts, As we forgive our [sin] debtors. 13And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” . . . He commanded them to pray for Yahweh’s kingdom to come and be established on this planet Earth!! Yahweh’s kingdom includes Yahweh’s rest! Yahweh’s kingdom is coming from the heavens to this earth, and this world will be inhabited by Yahweh’s people, no matter what the naysayers may think or teach. It is going to be an eternal time of unimaginable blessing and joy!
Yahshua’s reign on earth may not just be 1,000 years, but it will begin with a first 1,000 years, and extend on into a timeless eternity. In fact, when you look at the word thousand in Revelation 20, it is in the plural, so it could be saying thousands of years!! But no matter, we are in the post crucifixion and post Pentecost age, and yet the Apostle of Hebrews writes that the promise of entering Yahweh’s rest remains for us to obtain. It was yet future for our 1st Century brethren, it is still future for us today, but it’s coming soon to an inhabited world very near to you!!
You can begin to experience this rest of Yahweh by giving your life to Messiah Yahshua, Jesus Christ, today! No time to put it off, today is the day of salvation. Bow your heart before Yahshua today, or bow your knee before Him on Judgment Day, the choice is still yours to make. Of course, the age of grace is over when Judgment Day arrives, so trust Yahshua to save your soul right now!
